Walnut Flat nestles up against the player and thus offers a robust playing position. The four-piece bolt-on neck is made from five pieces of maple and walnut, while the flat "D" profile sits comfortably in the hand and allows fast basslines and complex grooves to flow easily from the jatoba fingerboard.
The Ibanez SR300EB-WNF Walnut Flat uses Ibanez PowerSpan Dual coil pickups specially developed for this Bass, which cover a variable sound spectrum in conjunction with the active Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band tone control. Whether you're looking for transparent solo and jazz sounds, a smacking rock growl or a rich thrust from the deepest bass cellar, the four-string always has the right setting for every style.
Another special feature of the Ibanez Standard SR305EB-WNF Walnut Flat is the Power Tap switch, which switches the coils of both humbuckers from the powerful series circuit to tap or PowerTap mode. While the former delivers authentic single coil sounds with typical clarity and tone definition, the latter complements this sound with a fundamental bass component.
On the body side, the strings of the Ibanez SR305EB-WNF Walnut Flat are attached to the tried-and-tested Accu-Cast B120 bridge, whose solid construction contributes significantly to the long and even decay Sustain of the Basses. At the same time, 16.5 mm string spacing offers space for clean attacks even with a firm grip, while the ball ends, which can be attached from above, make it much easier to change strings.
