The Slate Digital ML-1 Matte Black Microphone is the heart of the virtual microphone system. This large-diaphragm microphone features a shock-mounted, gold-plated 6-micron capsule and a state-of-the-art FET circuit path that provides a linear, flat and clean output for emulation. When combined with the Slate Digital Tube Microphone modelling software, it can sound like some of the rarest and famous microphones in recording history. The software package includes emulations of the classics Neumann/Telefunken U47, Neumann U67, Neumann M7, Sony 800, Telefunken/AKG C12, Telefunken Elam 251, each of which has made recording history on its own and has been used on countless recordings for vocals, guitars, acoustic instruments, drum overheads, etc. While a well-preserved Neumann U47 alone quickly eats up all your savings, and the Telefunken re-release hovers at similar heights, the Slate Digital ML-1 Matte Black Microphone gives you these top-of-the-line models at a fraction of the price - available at the touch of a button and in the guise of an absolutely professional hardware microphone in its own right. In addition, the emulations of the Neve 1073 and the similarly popular Siemens V76 allow you to further refine your sound and prepare it perfectly for mixdown.
