The new Generation of the Qu series from Allen & Heath brings a breath of fresh air to the world of digital mixing. With six new models, the series is based on the latest 96kHz FPGA technology and DEEP processing, supplemented by optional Dante connectivity and numerous improvements in workflow and hardware. or in the studio or on stage - the Qu mixers are equipped for a wide range of requirements.
All models in the series have a powerful 32x32 USB-C audio interface for DAW connection, enable 32-channel multitrack recording directly to SD card and offer uncomplicated stereo recording and playback functions via USB-A. There are three different housing sizes to choose from, each as a standard version or with an integrated Dante interface: the compact Qu-5 with 17 faders, 16 XLR inputs and 12 outputs; the medium-sized Qu-6 with 25 faders, 24 inputs and 16 outputs; and the flagship Qu-7 with 33 faders, 32 XLR inputs and 20 outputs. The models with the suffix "D" are also equipped with a Dante interface that works with 16x16 channels at 48 or 96kHz.
Visually, the series remains true to the familiar Qu design, but presents itself with numerous further developments: Higher-quality microphone preamps and modern 96kHz converters guarantee crystal-clear sound. Each channel strip module is now equipped with its own Display and colour-coded level meter - for intuitive operation at a glance. A new touchscreen ensures smooth operation and an improved overview.
Thanks to DEEP Processing, the new Qu consoles offer the integration of professional studio effects directly in the channel strip. With the firmware update V1.1, additional premium plug-ins from the dLive series are available, including emulations of famous vintage compressors and analogue preamps. Practical helpers such as feedback and gain assistants - taken over from the CQ series - also make levelling and sound checking much easier.
The new Qu series from Allen & Heath is aimed at professional users who value uncompromising audio quality, sophisticated operation and modern features - all in a robust, tour-ready format.
