The 1010 Music blackbox is a compact desktop sampler with touchscreen that combines the best features of the Eurorack line. The four-part polyphonic instrument processes WAV files in mono and stereo up to 24 bit and 48 KHz. The interface provides access to 60 presets, each of which stores 16 samples, 16 sequences and 16 songs. In total 960 sounds are available. When accessing the microSD card, even sample lengths of up to 4 GB are possible.
With the built-in sequencer, you can create your own patterns in no time at all, which can be recorded either with piano roll or in real time; the patterns can also be combined in songs. In addition to playing OneShots, the highlights of the Blackbox include BPM synchronization of loops with different tempos and beat slicing. The line input feeds external sound material and samples everything you need. Whether a few cool sounds from a synthesizer or a selection of loops from a record. With just a few simple steps on the encoders and the nimble touch screen, the sample ends up in the pattern and can also be further refined with effects such as delay and reverb.
In its entirety, the 1010 Music blackbox is not only a sampler and sample player, but also a groove box, which can also be operated by a more powerful USB PowerPack on the go due to the USB connection. The dimensions of this instrument and its low weight definitely speak for it.
