The Align II MIPS helmet from Specialized - affordable protection and comfort
The Specialized Align II is a racing bike helmet that offers its wearer top protection and very good ventilation at an affordable price. It was equipped with a sliding intermediate layer, the MIPS inlay, which absorbs rotational forces acting on the head during a fall. This further enhances the high impact protection of the outer helmet shell, which is manufactured through the In-Mould process. The multidimensional air intake construction ensures that you don't overheat even on strenuous rides, and Align II can be quickly adjusted via a user-friendly, comfortable strap system.

MIPS is the acronym for " Multi Directional Impact Protection System" and refers to a movable protective layer that is built into most Specialized helmets. This inlay is connected to the helmet via an elastomer and can glide in all directions by approx. 10 to 15 mm. This absorbs and reduces the rotational forces acting on the head during a fall. In the MIPS SL version of the S-Works Road and the Ambush helmets, Specialized also ensure that the MIPS layer does not have any disadvantages in terms of ventilation and weight.
