The new SDE-3 Dual Digital Delay by Boss is a tribute to the iconic SDE-3000 rackmount delay. It was one of the most sought-after rackmount delays among some of the most influential guitarists in the 1980s and established itself as a trailblazer in the history of effects pedals thanks to its versatility. Now Boss combines the technology of the SDE-3000 with new features in a compact housing that fits on any Pedalboard and delivers the precision and vintage digital character of its iconic predecessor. The SDE-3 comes with classic controls for level, feedback and time, while the stacked pots provide a range of additional setting options: In addition, independent parameters can be set for Depth and Rate for unique modulations, while the Hi-Cut control is enables a cleaning up of the high frequency ranges. A maximum delay time of 800 ms in stereo mode or 1600 ms in mono mode can also be set. The offset control also offers the option of a secondary delay, making experimental soundscapes or exotic delay variations possible. The stereo output can be used to create all delay effects with a broad panorama - discrete stereo as well as classic panning is possible here.
In order to guarantee the precision of its great role model, the SDE-3 has not only been equipped with a tap tempo function. It also enables clock-accurate syncing with an external MIDI clock via TRS MIDI In. These features provide reliable functions for accurate delay effects that can run synchronously to the beat. In addition, the control/expression input provides the option of using up to two external footswitches or an expression pedal.
