The Duesenberg Julia Catalina Sunset Rose delivers powerful solidbody sounds with the distinctive touch of classic semi-hollow electric guitars. For this purpose, the solid mahogany body was fitted with a resonance chamber and specially developed pickups in the form of a Duesenberg Domino P-90 on the neck and a Split / King dual-coil humbucker. The hardware equipment of the Duesenberg Julia relies entirely on in-house add-on parts and consists of tuning-stable Duesenberg Z-tuners with Art Diego wings and a Duesenberg Deluxe tremola for classic pitch modulation.
The body of the Duesenberg Julia is built in a resonant solid body construction and has a hollow chamber with an F-hole in the upper half of the body. This not only makes the Julia lighter on the strap and on the lap, but also adds the airy sounds of the semi-hollow construction to the sound. Thanks to the extra wide Cutaway, even the highest positions of the 22-fret rosewood fingerboard can be reached without any problems. As a visual highlight, the body is harmoniously finished with a double cream binding at the transition from the side to the back and the top.
Two classics from the Duesenberg range are used on the Duesenberg Julia to transform the sound. The Duesenberg Domino P-90 in the neck position delivers warm and wide sounds with an attacking single coil note, while the Split/King dual-coil humbucker on the bridge is up for any kind of fun, from clear cleans to steamy leads. Using the two toggle switches behind the bridge of the Duesenberg Julia, the humbucker can not only be switched to coil Split mode, but the humbucker signal can also be sent directly to the output socket, bypassing all electronic parts.
