The Shimano SL-U4000 from the CUES series is a 2x shifter for city, touring and mountain bikes with Linkglide drivetrains. It is suitable for 9-speed as well as 10-speed and 11-speed gears. It is attached to handlebars with a 22.2 mm clamp diameter on the left side via a clamp. As a Rapidfire Plus mono model, the SL-U4000 scores with fast shifting and has only one lever with which you can shift both up and down. It also has a fixed visual gear indicator that gives you more control over gear changes. The lever is easily accessible, ergonomically shaped and can be operated with little force. This ensures comfort and more enjoyable riding. The shifter is made of aluminium, steel and synthetic resin. A steel shifter cable with a friction-reducing coating is included.

Shimano Rapidfire Plus Mono shift levers are only available for the left side, because they shift the front derailleur. In contrast to regular Rapidfire Plus models, only one lever is installed here, which is used for both upshifting and downshifting. This is practical and accommodates natural finger positions. You change the chainring comfortably while keeping a firm grip on the handlebars and concentrating on the ride.
