The Fame Handpan Five C-Lake is a hand-tuned stainless steel handpan with an Aztec Gold finish, tuned to a C major diatonic scale. This instrument fulfills a dream for many children and teachers. The diatonic C major scale makes it easy to play a wide range of songs and melodies, all with the unmistakable, enchanting sound of the handpan. Featuring nine tones, the handpan produces a balanced and powerful sound at 440 Hz. The Fame handpan is played by striking its individually tuned tone fields with the fingers. With a diameter of 22 inches or 54 centimeters, it sits comfortably on the lap for relaxed playing. The C major tuning includes the notes G3, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, A4, B4, and C5. The central keynote lies in the middle of the handpan, surrounded by a circle of carefully tuned tone fields. Each playing surface is shaped under tension and hand-tuned to 440 Hz.
