The Fame SE Series Big Boy II is a classic hollow-body electric guitar in the style of traditional jazz and archtop models. With its large-volume body, proven construction and style-typical features, it is aimed at all those who want to combine an open basic character with versatile application possibilities. Two Tron-style humbuckers deliver a clearly defined, vintage-oriented sound that can be used for everything from jazz and Blues to rockabilly and slightly distorted rock sounds. Visually, the Big Boy II underlines its classic claim with gold-colored Hardware including Bigsby-style vibrato and die-cast tuners.
The body of the Fame SE Series Big Boy II is made of laminated basswood, which ensures a balanced resonance and open vibration behaviour. The full-hollow construction supports a warm basic character typical of classic hollowbody guitars. To reduce unwanted feedback, a tone bar is installed under the bridge, which provides additional stability and also allows use at moderate gain settings.
For the electric sound pickup, the Big Boy II is equipped with two Fame Tron-style humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions. The pickups work with moderate Output and Alnico magnets and deliver a balanced Vintage-Sound with a clear response and pronounced mid-range presence. As a result, the sound always remains defined and assertive without losing any of its warmth. The circuitry is classic with a 3-way toggle switch, two separate volume controls and an additional treble control for fine-tuning the sound.
The hardware equipment of the Fame SE Series Big Boy II is both functionally and visually coordinated with the classic look. An adjustable Tune-o-Matic bridge with rosewood base ensures clean intonation and robust string action, while the Bigsby-style vibrato enables subtle pitch modulations. Six reliable die-cast tuners on the headstock ensure solid tuning stability. All hardware components are finished in a uniform gold finish and round off the harmonious overall appearance of the guitar.
